About the West Coast, New Zealand

Taste possum pie at Pukekura, pan for gold in Shantytown, hike the glacier at Fox or Franz Josef, there’s just so much to do in this magical part of New Zealand.

If you are lucky enough to travel the West Coast on one of its crystal clear days, don’t miss the opportunity to take a scenic flight up and over the mountains, you won’t believe the sights!

The northern end of this wild, historic coast has a special micro climate. Here you can venture onto the famed Heaphy Track or just enjoy the majestic native bush.

View the wonderful natural forest from above with a treetops walk or try some white water rafting.

No one should drive past the incredible rock formations at Punakaiki without stopping to marvel, and if time allows take a day walk into the Paparoa National Park.
