Come and share our back country treks. An idyllic world of horses and sheepdogs, wonderful scenery, plentiful wildlife.
We like to think we do things differently. The horses don't wear a bridle, just a soft, padded halter, most have a barefoot trim instead of shoes and no one is ever allowed to kick a horse. The whole process is based upon asking the horse nicely, instead of insisting and dishing out punishment for refusal. Think of this place as a rescue home or sanctuary. Nearly every horse, and dog, would be dead if it hadn't come here.
They don't all behave perfectly, all the time, but they try their best and they like being talked to and cuddled, plus the apple they always get on their return from a trek. Come and try it, a new way to approach horse trekking.
The North Bank Ride takes an hour, out and back, and is safe for your grandmother!
Our Branch River Ride takes an hour and a half and is on fairly flat terrain, following a meandering river.
Possums Gate Ride takes about two hours and I can guarantee a good soaking for anyone brave enough to ride Sergeant Pepper! River crossings are the norm plus beautiful scenery.
The Forest Track ride takes three hours and climbs steeply in places before returning to the river to walk and swim the horses home.
We offer user friendly, well trained horses. Children who are too small for our high country rides can be led round on a pony. Business groups a specialty.
