About Karamea Adventures

Horse Treks for only 2 people and your experienced guide, who can offer you either a Farm & Forest Trek of 1.5 hour ride along farm tracks, across creeks and through the beautiful Westcoast forest.
The other option is a 1.5 hour ride along the Beach and Farm Terrace, which offers the chance to enjoy the spectacular Tasman Sea views and a beach all to ourselves.

All rides can be catered for, from the very beginner to experience a pleasant walk in great scenery, to a little more, perhaps a trot here and there or even the chance to have a canter if you so desire.
The guide can acess your ability, and cater for your needs.
Our location is 1km from the sea and backs onto the kahurangi National Park, so the scenery is stunning and secluded.

Karamea is the beginning or end of the famous Heaphy Track, which is only 2km down the road from us. We have the world renoun Oparara Basin, which boast the amasing Limestone Arches and pristine rainforest walks. There are plenty of opportunities with local walking tracks, MTN bikiing trails and different beach and river options to explore in either a Kayak, Riverbug or Tube or how about a little fishing. The sunsets are awesome and a great way to finish the day chilling out on the isolated beaches, having it all to yourselves.

There a lots of accommodation options to stay in, from backpackers to camp grounds to motels and hotels, all to suit your budgets. You can fly in hire a car or just get here to enjoy the fabulous Karamea hospitality.
