About Gumtree Farmstay

Gumtree farm runs beef cattle and sheep all year round, as well as rearing calves and orphaned lambs during the months of August to October. We also have 3 working dogs, 2 house cats, alpaca, chickens, ducks, kune kune pig & a naughty goat.

We offer hosted B&B accommodation in our home plus a separate self contained hut for 2 adults.

The Ardgowan & Airedale Rooms both have a king size bed which can convert to 2 single beds. If required a single trundle bed can be placed in the Ardgowan Room for a child under 12 years. Guest share bathroom with separate guest share toilet.
Inclusions:- Continental Breakfast, limited free internet. An afternoon tour of the farm - giving you time to pat & feed farm animals.

* Optional extras:- 2 course evening meals shared with our family.
Sheep shearing demonstration. Afternoon Tea.
Advance notice necessary - please enquire.

THE SHEPHERD'S REST is a Shepherds Hut separate from the house and offers accommodation for 2 adults. Continental breakfast is included. Queen bed, kitchenette, composting toilet. NO WIFI OR FARM TOUR (farm tour available for extra fee).

Our farm is a short drive to Oamaru which has many restaurants. No kitchen facilities available.

We are the perfect base for sightseeing in and around historic Oamaru. Highlights of Oamaru include blue and yellow-eyed penguins, the Victorian Precinct and its array of artists and craftspeople, Moeraki Boulders and Elephant Rocks.
