About Ribbonwood Retreat Bed and Breakfast Franz Josef

Enjoy panoramic views of the forests, glaciers and mountains of Westland National Park from your room. The grounds at Ribbonwood are specially landscaped to provide habitat for New Zealand's native birds. Ribbonwood is uniquely situated in a quiet rural landscape, a few minutes drive from the village and ten minutes drive from the glacier.

Kiwi hosts Jonathan, a wildlife ranger and Julie, international school teacher are experts on history and ecology of the glacier region.
We are passionate hikers and bird watchers who can show you the best places to visit. We have several excellent restaurants nearby that offer free transport. Our modern home and cottage feature free WiFi, tiled bathrooms and cork tiled floors. We supply you with complimentary slippers.

At Ribbonwood you will find friendly, personalised advice. We cater for just a few guests at a time because we want you to feel completely at home.
