Directions: Haurata is approximately 65km from Gisborne city and 24km east of Matawai village. Once on the Makaretu rd there is 12.57 km to drive on a gravel road. Aerial 658 is 1/2 way and this is the office .

Enjoy Haurata as great family getaway, a walking holiday, a romantic escape or just to experience life on a New Zealand farm.
The Haurata property offers two types of accommodation to suit your budget and needs.
The Farm House is a four bedroom holiday home with all the luxuries set in a large rhododrendron garden .Unwind in the stylish and cosy fully self-contained farmhouse with a great wood burning fire and gas powered out-door hot tub.
The Backpacker Cottage is basic accommodation but still provides all the amenities you need for a great walking or country holiday.This authentic colonial shearers-quarters has been painted inside and out but still has the cute rustic hut feel for those on a budget.
The Haurata Walks lead you on a journey to some of the best views of Gisborne and its hinterland. The land formations are as interesting as its history. There are short walks and long walks available.

If organised prior to visit meals can be provided.
This includes continental and cooked breakfast and food supplied for making own lunches and a two course evening meal.
