Opportunities for swimming, trotting and cantering along the sandy banks of the Buller River for beginner to experienced riders.

We have well cared for horses to suit all abilities and give tuition to novice riders.

We provide competent guides, footwear and helmets. We have no minimum age.And will help you with your ability.

Also available from our Adventure Centre in the Lower Buller Gorge is jetboating, whitewater rafting and quad biking tours - book more than one activity and receive "multi trip" discounts.

Punakaiki Horse Treks

Prices from $135 to $160

We are located 700m south of the Pancake Rocks, Punakaiki.

Our ride takes you into the beautiful Punakaiki valley, within the Paparoa National Park, at the beginning of each ride we give tuition, and match you to a horse suitable to your riding ability, first time and experienced riders catered for. The ride follows the Punakaiki river within the Paparoa National Park, we cross the river a few times and have a short stop at a hut in the valley with refreshments. On the return route, we loop around the valley and finish along the beach and Punakaiki lagoon, there will photos stops along the way. We provide experienced guides, wet weather gear (if needed), helmets, refreshments 9 on (2.5 hour ride). We have been established since 1996.
Accommodation available at Hydrangea cottages (across the road from stables) we also offer stay 2 nights and ride offers, and offer free camping sites for self contained camper vans if you go riding.
Our stables are 700m south of the Pancake Rocks and 300m north of the Punakaiki bridge.
