Hack ‘ n Stay the unique Horse Backpacker in the middle of Golden Bay. 1.5 h from Nelson, 8 min from Takaka with own beach access to stunning Patons Rock Beach.

Quality rides and horse welfare is very important to us. Horsemanship and even hands on when getting the hacks ready is part of your experience. From 2h up to overnighter rides. We are happy to see you happy. You can also stay in our funky farm house with horse themed rooms or park up at our car park to explore even more around beautiful Golden Bay.

Off road trails to and along the beach, small groups, having a break at the famous Mussel Inn or enjoying a swim on a calm sunny day. Vaulting and cart rides. Full-moon or early morning rides are very special and create memories for live.

For beginner do we offer a get started package with lessons and ground work . In no time can you soon enjoy the beach. You can also bring your own horse for a holiday at our horseome ranch.
