About Croesus Cottages

Croesus Cottages are situated just a 15 walk to the Ocean, a 5 minute walk up the road to access the new Paparoa Great Walk, and just opposite the walk entrance is the now refurbished All Nations Hotel which serves Coffee/Beer and Food every night.
A 15 minute drive North takes you to the famous Pancake Rocks, Tavern, Cafe and Crafts. Canoeing, Horse Treks, Hiking and Wagon Tours or Surfing the point, are all at your fingertips. 5 minutes drive South and you can make your own Knife or Jade Carving. Further South is the Town of Greymouth, and from there to Franz Joseph. North is to Westort and Karamea. This area is an adventure playground with continuing up graded facilities to cater for most people. Scenic attractions abound. You can be a lounge lizard enjoying the peace and tranquility, or you can be on the fast track adventure hound with mountain bike tracks or the grunt hike to the top of Croesus Hill.
The area is steeped in History, from the Jade routes, to Flax Milling, and Gold Mining. Barrytown itself is an old Mining Town which dates back to the 1870's. Visit the All Nations and talk to the locals for plenty of local history, having a beer on the deck watching the famous West Coast Sun Sets.
