About Gumtree Farmstay

Gumtree farm runs beef cattle and sheep all year round, as well as rearing calves and orphaned lambs during the months of August to October. We also have 3 working dogs, 2 house cats, alpaca, chickens, ducks, pigs and a naughty goat.

Children over 3 years welcome as we have teenagers ourselves.

Two guest rooms are available in our spacious family home. The Ardgowan & Airedale Rooms both have a king size bed which can convert to 2 single beds. If required a single trundle bed can be placed in the Ardgowan Room for a 3rd person. Guest share bathroom with separate guest share toilet.
Inclusions:- Continental Breakfast (cereals, toast, homemade scones, yoghurt, fruits, juice, tea/coffee), limited free internet. A brief afternoon tour of the farm - giving you time to pat & feed farm animals.

* Optional extras:- 2 course evening meals shared with our family.
Sheep shearing demonstration. Afternoon Tea.
Advance notice necessary - please enquire about prices.

We are less than 10 minutes drive to Oamaru which has many restaurants or guests can use an Outdoor Gas BBQ to cook on when the weather is fine. No kitchen facilities available.

We are the perfect base for sightseeing in and around historic Oamaru. Highlights of Oamaru include blue and yellow-eyed penguins, the Victorian Precinct and its array of artists and craftspeople, Moeraki Boulders and Elephant Rocks.
We hope to meet you soon.
