With the feel of a spacious villa in the countryside, Kauri Nest is on the road to Whangarei airport (10 min drive), Whangarei Heads, Parua Bay, golf course, Abby caves and many other attractions, cafes, restaurants and local shops are only minutes away.
Enjoy a warm, stylish stay with a choice of tastefully furnished guest suites. This historic home was owned by well known History writer Florence Keene from 1949 to 2000.
The Florence Room, which enjoys a lovely bush view, has a superb ensuite bathroom complete with double shower and bidet.
The Riverview Room, also with ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower, and has a lovely view over the Hatea river.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the formal lounge and dining areas with the dining area leading out onto the deck surrounded by glass balustrade so as not to inhibit the amazing views over the town basin and beyond.
Hostess Jackie has an onsite therapeutic and sports massage facility; she has been a naturopath and herbalist for 20 years so can add to your “Kauri Nest Experience” with a wonderful massage. Furthermore Jackie is an accomplished artist, a photographer and a creative garments designer who has had entries in the World of Wearable Art.
