Charming 130yr old cottage welcoming guests for 30 years. Secluded native flora & flower gardens in 4 acre mountain setting overlooking Motueka River Valley. Two in-house guest rooms (Queen and King) and the private Mountain View Chalet are all furnished cottage style and each includes private en suite. Every room has a private deck with lovely view of the surrounding gardens.
Enjoy countrystyle B & B, homemade breads, preserves, free range eggs etc. Sheep, chickens, ducks, and donkeys. Our friendly housepets include 3 cats and two terriers. Doone Cottage only provides lodging for up to six house guests so you can be sure of friendly personal service. Laundry facilities are available.
Just across the road flows the Motueka River, famous for its brown trout, with 4 other excellent trout rivers nearby. Guiding can be arranged. Doone Cottage is on the main road Motueka/West Coast. Short distance to the wonderful Abel Tasman National Park (can arrange water taxis, kayaking etc.), Kahaurangi & Nelson Lakes National Parks both within 1 hours drive.. Or just relax & soak up the country atmosphere of yesteryear in this special place. Nelson 45 mins. Motueka 20 mins. Picton 2.1/2 hours Westcoast 3 hours.
