Down our drive only 1 minute’s walk is the shoreline, where there are miles of beautiful beach to meander along with stunning views of the Seaward Kaikoura mountains meeting the sea.
We are situated 5 minutes from the centre of town, and very near one end of the well-known Peninsula walk track.
We have sea views around 270 degrees in the upstairs dining and lounge areas [NB no sea views from guest bedrooms]. We offer a hearty continental breakfast.
Our beds are comfortable and the rooms private. As we have a guest share bathroom, we only take one group at a time. We have wireless internet, electric blankets on all beds, hairdryers in rooms, access to washing machine and iron., Freeview TV in the Queen Room, and provision for DVD in the Twin King Single Room. We have off-street parking.
Kaikoura is great for those keen to get up close and personal with marine life – there is a rich variety of seabirds (albatross, blue penguins), whales, dolphins, and seals. The area offers a number of fishing charters, as well as bird-watching, dolphin swimming and whale watching.
We are spoilt for choice with a great range of local cafes and restaurants. The name Kaikoura means ‘meal of crayfish’ and the town is famous for its delicious seafood.
We have lived in the area 34 years and have good local knowledge. Your hosts are Ann and Brent Fearnley. Brent is a keen hunter and
