Description: Between horses, piglets, sheep and many more animals, you find our cosy backpacker. Sleep in one of the four cabins or book a bunk bed. Go on our horse trek (See more about our horsetrekking on The TrueNZ Guide to Horsetrekking), make your own Maori bone carving necklace and order a traditional Hangi meal. After all these activities, you can have a nice hot shower and light the outside fire for a night under the stars. We welcome you to experience our Ngati Porou hospitality!

Peacock Lodge and the Morere Hot Springs are on the main road (State Highway 2) 57km south of Gisborne and 40 km north of Wairoa. Daily bus services go past the front gate.
Along with the 14 bed (5 bedroom) backpacker lodge there is a self-contained cottage that will sleep 4. Excellent beds, free washing facilities. Computer available for email etc.
