The Homestead Farm Stay Description: We invite you to our 120-year-old wooden Farm Homestead, set amongst mature oak trees in a rural setting on the bank of the Rough River in the province of Westland in the South Island of New Zealand.
There are five major rivers suitable for fishing all within a 15 minute drive from The Homestead, in addition to the river fishing directly on our property. Helicopter flights to upper reaches of the Rough River also are available direct from The Homestead. We can give you seven days of adventure - fully guided fishing in remote places, staying in musterers huts in an all inclusive package.
We can also offer a self-contained two-room unit for your sole use. It is attached to the Farm Homestead and consists of the Original Stable Block completely refurbished, with new native timbers. All meals are provided.
In addition, we have 10 quiet farm horses. No experience is needed, and all ages catered for. Treks are available from one hour to a full day along the banks of the Rough River -- beautiful scenery following old cattle and pack tracks through beech forest and river flats.
